This is Djinn's entry for Part 1 of our recently ended Frost In Paradise contest.
Of course we couldn't actually enter it, since it was our contest, but if you read the contest background ( [link] ) you know that this impromptu juxtaposition of images sparked a little project that we were not anticipating. Sort of a happy accident.
We'll be announcing the winners of Part 1 of the contest soon, along with details of Part 2 (the narrative part) of the contest.

If you read the details for Part 1 of the contest you will probably get a feel for the nature of Part 2. Although you do not know which three images will be used in Part 2 yet, I can tell you (just between you and me) that this image will also be used. So if I were writing a story that this image illustrated, I wonder what it would be...
