Hey there, Comrades! I know it's been a long time since I've posted here, but hopefully this news will make up for it. Check out this video, then check out our Kickstarter campaign to help fund what could possibly be the most EPIC Stock Photoshoot in the history of civilization (or at least in the past 427 years). If you look closely at the thumbnail (or not so closely at all the other material) you will see that we are talking about a conclave of...

AdorkaStock :iconadorkastock:
PirateLotus-Stock :iconpiratelotus-stock:
Null-Entity :iconnull-entity: !

HOLY MACKEREL!

We really hope we can make this happen, and with your help we can!

Stay tuned for updates (and more shenanigans).

All the best,
Jade

I'm reaching out to you fine folks, since you are such a diverse and talented mob. I am looking for a few experienced world builders who have a serious interest in the genre of modern-day spy thrillers and who also have a taste for the strange and mysterious. Right now this is an experimental/creative project, so there is no moolah (but potentially a great deal of fun).

If you are a creative writer or a gamemaster with a heavy concentration in fictional worldbuilding this could be an interesting project for you. We will be playing around with the tropes of spy thrillers, high-tech crime, intrigue and international men and women of adventure. There is no magic, but there is definitely a large helping weird mystery and the truly strange.

We will be developing the structure, personnel, histories, exploits, and artifacts of several fictional agencies/organizations that are vying for control of a particular resource (which is a secret).

If you are interested, please send me a private message with specifics on your background as a world builder.

Thanks!
Jade

How long have you been on DeviantArt?
Just over 10 years.

What does your username mean?
My name.

Describe yourself in three words.
Curious. Creative. Inciter.

Are you left or right handed?

Left handed.

What was your first deviation?

Yikes! I simply can't go there. How about the first one that may have been somewhat useful...

What is your favourite type of art to create?

Immersive Theater and Interactive Variety Shows.

If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

Watercolors.

What was your first favourite?

Haha, I'd forgotten that. How appropriate...

Submitting Stock Photos by sammigurl61190

What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Images that have something that's a little different, whether in terms of technique, concept, theme, composition, etc. I love stuff that goes somewhere new.

Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

That's an impossible question.

If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

Over the years I've worked on quite a few wacky projects that many folks from DeviantArt have contributed to; I would like to meet every one of them.

How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

I met one of my best friends through DeviantArt; DJ extraordinaire TheWalleh, who used to go by 'Nisori' and 'SNAK-Stock' on dA.

AND

Two fellow Deviant's ( anyman82 and Gribern-Stock ) have traveled across the country to perform in several of my shows. Their friendship means the world to me and their creativity, talent, and chutzpah have made my shows much better than they otherwise would have been.

What are your preferred tools to create art?

- Meetings over good coffee
- Pens, pencils and Docket Gold writing tablets
- Google Docs for project management
(see above re: Fave Type of Art to Create)

What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Mowing the lawn; cool ideas often hit me while doing yard work. Also the shower, but I think that one applies to almost everyone.

What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
I have several; they are all the times that I have been fortunate enough to meet friends from DeviantArt in real life. Truly some of my favorite memories of all time. Some of the crazier meet-ups were with lockstock and Izzy for a wonderful day of books and Japanese food; AdorkaStock for the most epic photoshoot of all all time, AngelaSasser and Zephyri for the world's shortest (but best) trip to DragonCon, anyman82 for drinks at his personal bar, Gribern-Stock for impromptu coffee all the way across the country, and lindowyn-stock & TheArcher777 for a fantastic day of sight seeing and grasshopper tacos.

Hello, Comrades!  Here's a digest of the recent additions to Playful Knavery and its podcast, Roulette.

Roulette chat with artist Erin Barbeau aka Cassy-Blue

A couple of years ago, before becoming the proprietor of the most interesting nightclub in the multiverse, I was able to chat from time to time with some of my favorite artists and post those chats under the heading of a little podcast called Roulette. I’ve missed those chats.

I'm very fortunate in that I know some extremely cool (and extremely charming) people and I love hearing what they’ve been up to and learning more about what makes them tic. So I said, “Jade, just let Kij run the bar every now and again. Fritz and Keket will keep the chairs from being flung.  You go out there and have a drink with some more of your favorite artists and chat about whatever the heck comes up.”  I thought my inner monologue had made a pretty good point, so that’s what I did.

The first talented artist (and scientist) to sit down across the virtual cabaret table on this round of Roulette is none other than the wonderful Cassy-Blue, known to many in the world of bugs and fencing as Erin Barbeau. Listen in as we chat about stock photos, badass butterfly nets, beautiful bugs, bad movies, and plenty more. I had such a great time chatting with Erin; can’t wait until she sees Blade Runner so we can talk about that!

There’s only one file, but you can get to it several ways:

Stay tuned for more Roulette (and more Knavery).  If you know anyone with whom I should chat, send me a note.

* Chat Show Format Disclaimer *

If you are under the impression that Roulette contains
serious interviews with hard-hitting, in-depth questions
you are woefully mistaken.

Hello, Comrades!
---  Following up on last week's return to some knavery, it's fun to be able to post that Roulette (Playful Knavery's podcast) is now available on iTunes. It was just approved, so it will be a couple days before it shows up in the iTunes search; but here's the link if you'd like it.

I'm looking forward to having a big cup of java with a fantastically fun and talented (and eclectic) artist this week, so there's a new episode of Roulette just around the corner. Surprise guest! Wooo! As soon as the new ep is up, you'll be the 3rd to know.

Stay tuned.

I am very glad to announce that after several months of crazy shenanigans and no small amount of tomfoolery, I am finally able to relaunch one of my favorite projects; Playful Knavery. Part blog, part podcast, part sidewalk cafe; it is a handy basket into which I can put all the things that I consider to be most interesting and fun in my life.  I hope you'll check it out.

I'll be adding more new stuff to the site over the next several days, but here is a digest of some old content that you may be interested in (if you didn't see it when it was new...);

PK Digest
- A chat with the incredible Sakky Attacky! aka AdorkaStock
- A chat with the incomparable Kyle Ross aka Null-Entity
- All sorts of belly dancing from the talented folks at Hip Expressions

As I mentioned, most of the current content is from a couple of years ago, which was the last time I was able to really devote myself to some good, old-fashioned knavery. So maybe I'll chat with Sakky and Kyle again and see what they've been up to ( other than having babies and wearing the coolest sweater in the whole world! ).  And there are all sorts of other cool cats we can chat will too. Not to mention exploring cocktails, clothes, adventure, intrigue, art, and who knows what else.

PS. Just to clarify, it was Sakky who had the baby and Kyle who has the cool sweater.
